National Council on Economic Education

As Americans struggle to keep their Christmas traditions in an uncertain economy, educators are acutely realizing the need to teach students economics. The National Council on Economic Education works for economic and financial literacy worldwide.

The organization offers 575 free lessons on its website. Kindergarteners can learn about scarcity by reading a story about too many animals trying to live in a lost mitten. Older students can learn about credit, budgets, and investments. The organization also works in over 20 countries transitioning to market economies.

Go to the National Council on Economic Education to look up lessons for your own children or students.
