Joslin Diabetes Center
Diabetes has affected my family, and I have represented it here with a personal symbol, a bell. The Joslin Diabetes Center, affiliated with Harvard Medical School, combines care, education, and research in an effort to prevent and cure diabetes.
In research, center immunologists have found new ways to image pancreatic islet cells to understand the causes of Type I diabetes. In education, the center collaborated with the children's program Arthur to feature a young patient living with Type I diabetes.
